As a Teacher at Evergreen, you will help young minds explore, discover and understand the world around them. Our days are busy and hands on FUN!

In this role, you will see to the children’s basic needs and provide an enriching learning environment to create a safe, compassionate “home-away-from home” experience daily for our little ones.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide responsible care for children

  • Treat all children with care and compassion

  • Uphold all safety standards

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly classroom

  • Maintain a professional attitude, respecting family privacy at all times

  • Provide enriching educational activities

  • Lead songs and learning exercises

  • Provide structure and accountability in a compassionate fashion

  • Help children with toileting/diaper changes as needed

  • Design and implement educational, age-appropriate activities

  • Encourage children to participate in all activities

  • Help children learn to be “helpers” in the classroom, as appropriate

  • Contact parents as needed to address challenges

  • Remain in constant contact with families of children via brightwheel app

  • Provide many opportunities for children to learn and develop age-appropriate skills

  • Accept responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common areas and outdoor areas.

  • Attend all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school events.

  • Must be willing to work under the guidance of the team leaders and along other team members. You must demonstrate that you possess strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and leadership skills.

    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • GED required, college degree in Early Child Education is strongly preferred

  • Must be bilingual (Fluent speaking, reading and writing Spanish)

  • Ability to work assigned shifts that are given throughout the work day between 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday-Friday

  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications required

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a professional childcare setting

  • Physically able to perform tasks, including sitting on the floor, bending, and standing

  • Must be able to lift children weighing up to 35 lbs. regularly

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test

  • Must meet the basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
